GracePointe is committed to the following basic truths:
God
There is only one God. He is the Creator of the universe. As such, He is the absolute Ruler of all.
He reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Jesus
Jesus has existed throughout eternity.
However, in order to fulfill the plan of redemption for mankind He allowed Himself take on the physical body of humanity (incarnation). He was concieved of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for the sins of all people. He was buried but was resurrected from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is the one and only way of salvation. He will return to judge the earth and to rule over all.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself to mankind.
It is the message of God’s relationship to His creation. It is true and trustworthy. It is the ultimate rule of faith and practice for all.
Salvation
People have a sin nature that rebels against God.
This leads individuals to choose to commit acts of sin. Salvation is the gracious work of God whereby He forgives and brings people into a right relationship with Himself. This is only accomplished through the blood of Jesus. One must personally receive Jesus as Savior and Lord in order to be forgiven. This act involves turning away from the rebellious lifestyle (repentance), trusting in the finished work of Christ (faith), and commiting themselves to obey Jesus Christ as Lord. Salvation not only removes the guilt of sin (justification) but also breaks the bondage of sin and empowers the individual through the now indwelling Holy Spirit (sanctification).
